Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) Rectifiers have gained the popularity during recent years for the ac to dc conversion needs of the industry, customer and power grid sectors. This convereter can act as an AC to DC boost rectifier with near unity power factor at the grid side along with regulated and ripple free dc voltage at the output.

Voltage oriented control (VOC) for three phase PWM rectifier. The basic principles of the PWM rectifier are analyzed, and then the three-phase mathematical of the input AC Voltage sensorless PWM rectifier control system is established in synchronous rotating coordinates dq. The main goal of the control system is to maintain the dc output voltage at the desired value, while input currents should be sinusoidal with minimum current harmonic and in phase whit respective phase voltages in order to satisfy the unity power factor operation.
